Hanging Rock has crammed in a lot over 6 million years…from an alleged refuge for bushrangers to the colourful host of popular major events, the Rock could tell you many a tale about the region’s history... if you listen closely enough...

Hanging Rock is about discovery, and the Discovery Centre is the perfect place to start. Hands-on interpretive displays and informative panels guide provides a fascinating background on the history, mystery and geology of the Rock.

Even the wildlife loves Hanging Rock, with native species such as koala, kangaroo, wallaby and echidna’s making the occasional appearance. However, please remember they are all wild and should not be bothered, approached or fed.
